About Lee Community Gardens

The mission of Lee Community Gardens is to address food insecurity by creating high yielding, sustainable, regenerative gardens that provide free produce for people as well as native perennials for pollinators.

We began Lee Community Gardens in 2021 as a collaboration between Lee residents to turn a section of unproductive lawn behind St. Mary’s Church on Main St in Lee, MA, into a community-supported garden that provides fresh local produce to families and seniors in need. With the help of volunteers and local businesses we were able to distribute a bountiful harvest from June through October to seniors at Crossway Towers and many local families.

Our goal is to educate even more people on the importance of locally grown food for people and pollinators by expanding our gardens into other areas of Lee.
